Exam Instructions
Read the instructions below before taking the exam. For any questions please contact us at info@tekcert.org. In your message include your order number if you have one.
- Anyone can take the test with no prior work experience. If you have the skills and studied then you can take it. These tests are technical so having no work experience will make it challenging.
- You have 70 minutes to complete the test.
- Do not start the test until the Instructor gives you the go.
- Once you start the test the clock will start.
- There are 80 multiple choice questions. Each question is worth the same points.
- There is only one right/best answer to select from each question.
- You must select an answer for each question before you can go to next question.
- You can’t go back and change your previous question answers.
- You will need 70% or greater score to pass the test.
- You will know your score and pass/fail after test is completed or you run out of time.
- You can only take one 5 minute break but note that clock will continue to run while your taking the break. If you take more than one break you may be disqualified and fail the test. If there is an emergency and you must cancel the test, then the test will be terminated and you will have to repay to retake the test.
- The tests are taken virtually using your computer (desktop or laptop. Mobile not recommended). You need stable internet connection and web cam and make sure your audio and video is working. We also recommend to find a quiet place you are not distracted when taking the test.
- You will need to video conference to take the test. We will provide you with all the details in email.
- Your video and audio must be on while you are taking the test virtually. You can’t pass the test if you don’t have your video and audio on for the entire duration of the test.
- No cheating of any kind allowed. We are monitoring while you taking the test and if any cheating is detected you will be disqualified and fail the test. You may also be banned from taking future tests from tekcert.org.
- You must be on time for the test. We recommend to video conference 10 min early and make sure everything is working fine on your side before the test. If you are late for your test you may be disqualified.
- You must present a valid photo ID for us to see via the video before you start the test. Acceptable ID’s are government driver license or ID card, Passport or Student ID.
- We require to take your photo before taking the exam. This can be done via video conference. The photo will help us prevent cheating.
- To start the test you will need your exam authentication code. Make sure you have that ready to enter on the website https://www.tekcert.org/take-exam.php
- You may not use notes, books, internet or any other assistance when taking the test.
- If you pass the test you will receive email from us that contains the digital certification. Your certification does not expire as long as you can provide us proof you are active in the career. Sending us your resume, Linkedin profile, project samples, open source, events, books, etc. There is a $20 renewal fee every year (regardless how many certifications you have) for us to verify you’re active in your career. Others can verify your certification validity by going to https://www.tekcert.org/verify-cert-form.php
- Cancellation/Reschedule/Substitute : You will need to contact TekCert at least 48 hours prior to your exam using email info@tekcert.org. We charge a rescheduling fee of USD $25 and a cancellation fee of USD $50. You can also substitute with another exam as long as it's same price.
- If you fail the test you may retake it after 15 days. There is no limit on number of retakes.
